Formation is not the lineup. It is everything that happened before the names were read.
We trained where no one was watching. Parking lots. Rooftops. Courtyards. A wall for a goalkeeper. A railing for a coach. Two stones for a stadium.
The body remembers what the archives ignored.
If no league would have us, we became the league.
In Arabic, tashkīl is the team sheet. It is also the marks that give letters their sound. Formation is how a team takes shape. And how a language learns to speak. We claim both.
Nobody here was discovered. Everybody here repeated themselves until they could not be ignored.
First the fault line. Then the crossing. Now the formation. This is ZELZAL. What the earthquake built.

تدرّبنا حيث لا يرانا أحد. مواقف السيارات. الأسطح. الأحواش. جدارٌ مكان الحارس. درابزينٌ مكان المدرّب. حجران مكان الملعب.
الجسد يتذكّر ما تجاهلته الأرشيفات.
حين لم يقبلنا أيّ دوري، صرنا نحن الدوري.
التشكيل هو ورقة الفريق. والتشكيل هو الحركات التي تمنح الحروف صوتها. به يأخذ الفريق شكله. وبه تتعلّم اللغة أن تنطق. والكلمة لنا في الحالتين.
لا أحد هنا اكتُشف. كلّ من هنا كرّر نفسه حتى استحال تجاهله.
أولًا الفالق. ثم العبور. والآن التشكيل. هذا ZELZAL. ما بناه الزلزال.
